Notices - 17th September

Sunday 17th September
Congregational Fellowship will meet in the hall after the evening service and all are warmly invited to come along for tea, refreshments and a time of fellowship. Catriona Murray will share a bit about her life and faith.

Monday 18th September: God is Good Africa (AGM)
The AGM for God is Good Africa will be held in Newton Community Centre, Seaforth Road (Next to MG Alba) on Monday 18th September at 7.30pm. Kenny John Mackenzie will give an update on how your donations and kindness have been used in developing the school project in Uganda.

Tuesday 19th September: Kirk Session and Baptism
The Kirk Session will meet on Tuesday 19th September at 7pm in the Kenneth Street Session Room. At this meeting the Session will be pleased to meet with parents who wish baptism for their children. Parents should come to the Session Room at 7.15pm. It would be most helpful if parents could contact the minister or Rev Kenny I Macleod before Friday 15th in order to make arrangements towards the meeting with Session.

God's Appointments are Always on Time

On Sunday morning, Rev. Kenneth I. MacLeod preached on Genesis 18:17, 'God's appointments are always on time'.
Abraham was at the centre of God's plans and appointments in the world, as can be seen from the chosen passage. However, it is important to remember that the church of Christ is also at the centre of His plans - God's people are His portion in the world, and are all He will take out of it at the end.

God's Greatness for Our Good

On Sunday evening, Rev. James MacIver preached on Psalm 147, a sermon entitled, ‘God’s Greatness for our Good’.

He began by sharing some statistics about the universe, including the fact that the sun is, apparently, 1.3 million times the volume of the Earth. These statistics, Mr MacIver said, are impressive, but the degree to which they impress depends entirely upon that with which they are compared. ’.

The Small Psalm with the Big Message

In the prayer meeting on Wednesday evening, Rev. James MacIver preached on ‘The Small Psalm with the Big Message’. Psalm 117, despite being the shortest chapter in the book, carries a big message. Although it is only a few lines in length, its reach extends far beyond Israel.
