Notices - Sunday 18th March

Election of Office Bearers
Voting forms are available today. Communicant members are asked to take one envelope which contains a voting form. The form has details of how to complete it. Please return envelopes by placing them in the plate or giving them to those on the door no later than Sunday 25th March. Elders are encouraged to take envelopes to any communicant members who are housebound or unable to get to the services. Thank you.

Death Notice
We offer sympathy to the family of the late Donald Macritchie (Blackie), Cearn Chilleagraidh, who passed away on 7th March- especially to Kathleen, Norman, Mairi and Louise who mourn a father, and also to all who mourn a grandfather and great grandfather, and to Norman who mourns a brother.


Sunday 18th March
Youth Fellowship will meet in the hall after the evening service. The speaker is Andrew Macaulay and all young people are most welcome.


Friday 23rd March

There will be a Youth Bible Study for all young people aged S2-S6 in the Hall from 7:30-9:30pm.

Tuesday 17th April
SafeTALK (NHS Eileanan Siar) are running a short, free course on Suicide Alertness for Everyone from 5-7.30pm in the Lecture Room, Education Unit, Western Isles Hospital. Participants will learn four basic steps to help recognise people with thoughts of suicide within the community. Through this course, participants will be more willing and able to help connect people with thoughts of suicide to others who can help them. Wednesday 18th - Thursday 19th April
NHS Eileanan Siar are running a two-day course at St Columba’s Church Hall on Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). The course will run from 9am-4pm both days. This ASIST course will give you the necessary skills and confidence to reach out to someone who needs help. The course will cover learning how to recognise invitations for help; how to reach out and offer support; review the risk of suicide; apply a suicide intervention model; link people with community resources. The training is certificated, provided free of charge and open to everyone. To obtain the certificate, both days must be attended.
