Death
Mrs Lena Macleod, formerly Perceval Road, aged 89. Lena was a communicant member of the congregation over many years.

We were sorry to hear of her passing, and we extend our sincere condolences and prayers to her son John and his wife Elaine, with their family Michael, Gavin and Scott; her daughter Erica and her family Heather and Iain; her daughter Muriel and husband Alasdair, with their family Torquil and Mae.

We also remember the many cousins and relatives in the wider family circle.

 

Free Church Youth Camps
This week our sponsor camp, Kincraig Juniors, is taking place.

Sheona Glass, leader of the Kincraig Juniors Camp, would like to extend her thanks for your continued prayer and support for all the leaders and campers.

 

Wednesday 12th July 11.00am-1.00pm - Comann nan Pàrant
‘Thig a chluich’ will be running a drop in Gaelic craft, song, story and play session in the M.A. Hall on Wednesday 12th July, from 11am – 1pm. Parents/carers and their preschool children are welcome to join us at any point, the session is drop in so if you can’t make it for the start you can still come along. God is Good Africa will be hosting fundraising lunches in the M.A. Hall.

Soups, hot dishes, salads, filled rolls and kids menu will be available.

Edinburgh Theological Seminary

Saturday Courses 2023/2024 - Registration is now open online.

 

Who is the Saturday Course for?

The Saturday Courses, which may be completed with or without essays, are of great benefit to anyone who has a longing to dig deeper into the gospel. They are also intended for office-bearers – to encourage them to learn how to approach theological, biblical, historical and pastoral issues and thus to develop a greater study of the word of God.

No prior qualifications are necessary – everyone is welcome.

 

The following awards are available in these courses:

Certificate in Theology
To qualify for a Certificate in Theology, the student is required to submit six essays (normally up to three essays each year).


Diploma in Christian Studies
This is a further course for those who have already gained their Certificate in Theology. To qualify for the Diploma in Christian Studies, the student is required to submit a further six essays (normally up to three essays each year).

 

When will the lectures take place?

2023: 16 September, 7 October, 4 November, 9 December
2024: 13 January, 10 February, 16 March, 20 April

 

Fees: Standard: £281 a year;

          Concessions: £82;

          Full-time Students: £41;

          Veterans (four or more years faithful attendance): £46

          Auditors (no essays): £46;

          18 and under: Free!

Zachary Purvis: Christian Doctrine - Bored at Church? What Happens When God Calls His People to Worship.

Iver Martin: Church History – “Dour Presbyterians?” What You Need to Know About the Church in Scotland.
