Notices - Sunday 17th September

Adam’s visit.  In connection with ‘Adams’ visit to the congregation this evening, an opportunity is given to contribute to his evangelistic outreach work and his support for persecuted Christians in Muslim countries.

Any wanting to contribute should place their donation in an envelope clearly marked ‘Adam’ and leave it in the collection plate at the church or Seminary. If contributing by cheque, please make it payable to ‘Stornoway Free Church’.

Creche: 11.00am in the upper hall for children up to age 3.

Sunday School and Bible Class arrive in church at 11.00 with family, then leave through the side door nearest the hall after the children’s address.

 Everyone is welcome to the M. A. Hall after the morning service for a time of fellowship. Tea and Coffee will be served by Mary & Co.

 Thursday 21st September 7.30pm – Gaelic Prayer Meeting in the Seminary led by Mr Murdo Martin.

The M.A. Hall will be open for soups, teas and coffees to give people an opportunity to meet with friends. There will also be a kids play area available as well as items from ‘Dove’s Corner’ Baby Bank free of charge.

55+ Fellowship

The first meeting of the new “session” will be on Friday 29th September at 2.30pm to 4.00pm. We hope to have our elder Davie Chisholm as our speaker and to have our elder Torquil Macleod leading the singing.

Please come along - you will all be made very welcome.

 

'Just Do Something' – Men's Discipleship Book Group

A men's discipleship group will begin on Monday 18th of September 2023.

The group will meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from September till March, between 8-9pm.

For most weeks, we will discuss a section from the book 'Just Do Something' by Kevin DeYoung. There will also be several seminars and prayer breakfasts dotted throughout the months.

    October 28th - Soup and Pudding lunch in M.A. Hall, plus Bake and craft stall.

    November 21st - Andrew Maciver (North Tolsta) will talk on his work in Myanmar.

    December 9th - Christmas Fayre plus Soup and Pudding lunch in M.A. Hall.

    February 2nd - Congregational Praise and Food night hosted by WfM committee. 

    March 19th – Meeting - Lesley Sangster will speak about her work with OM and Gospel Ships.

    More details will be given about each meeting nearer the time.
