Death: We were deeply sorry to hear that Margaret Rose Macleod, (Margaret Stephen), Trust Housing Matheson Road, had passed away, aged 90.

We extend our prayerful condolences to her sons Donnie and Alasdair, and respective partners Agnes and Sandra, grandsons Stephen and Graham and respective wives Maggie and Gracie, great grandchildren, Matthew, Chloe and Tia, and also Evelyn and Ewan.

We pray that God will comfort the family in their loss.

 

Eilean Siar Foodbank

The Eilean Siar Foodbank are requesting donations of pasta, curry sauces, fruit, puddings, rice, juices, long life milk, cereals, biscuits, coffee and toiletries please.

Anyone in the congregation who can donate any of these items is asked to drop them off on Mondays between 11.00am and 1.30pm at the Eilean Siar Foodbank in the Golf Club or at Charlie Nicolson’s garage at 20 James Street.

The Eilean Siar Foodbank thanks all those in the congregation who support the foodbank, and also for the financial support given by Stornoway Free Church to help families and individuals in our community who need support.

 

Suicide Prevention Consultation

The Scottish Government and the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) would like to hear views to help finalise Scotland’s new Suicide Prevention Strategy and Action Plan which will be published in September 2022.

Suicide prevention is everyone’s business, and our ambition is a Scotland where everyone works together to prevent suicide.

This consultation will run for six weeks, until midnight on Tuesday 23 August and, asks for views and comments on a draft of the Strategy and a draft of the Action Plan.
