Cornerstone Church Plant – Building Appeal:
Cornerstone Church Plant was started in 2014 as an outreach from St Columba’s Free Church. Edinburgh.  It is located in the Morningside and Bruntsfield area of the city and is currently made up of 100 adults and 40 children. The congregation is committed to mission, evangelism and church planting.  Their aim is to build a strong congregation that will be a resource for mission and ministry across Scotland for future decades.

In 2013 the congregation was gifted The Old Schoolhouse in what has been regarded as an act of remarkable generosity.  It is an attractive listed building and a treasured landmark in the Morningside area of Edinburgh.  It is also an ideal base for mission and ministry.

The building is, however, in need of substantial repair and refurbishment. The congregation has prepared a plan that will sensitively restore and redesign it to create more space for a growing congregation to gather for worship, and provide an accessible and attractive resource for local community groups. The project cost is £300,000 plus VAT.  For a new congregation, this is a massive challenge but £40,000, has been already been raised and it hopes to raise a further £100,000.   For the remainder, the Cornerstone congregation is appealing to the wider Free Church to contribute towards the project.

If anyone in the congregation feels inclined to support it, they should place their contribution in an envelope clearly marked ‘Cornerstone’ and place it in any of the collection plates at the church or Seminary.

Further information about the project can be found on www.osh.org.uk
Thanks- Dawn would like to extend her sincere thanks for all those who helped in any way and who donated at the recent Soup and Pudding held to financially support youth camps in Moldova.  The amazing amount of over £1100 was raised. This sum will support the attendance of 22 kids at camp. Thank you!
